Day 21 – Put an Egg on It!

Today I felt crummy most of the day. Honestly, I questioned if I had the flu at some points. Luckily, I started to feel a little better in the afternoon. When I feel bad, I just want those convenience and comfort foods – soup and saltines – which aren’t Whole30. Had I been feeling up to it when I got home from work, we had the ingredients to make a Whole30 compliant soup but I wasn’t up to cooking that much so instead, I tried something new – chorizo topped with runny eggs (If you follow Melissa Hartwig, you know putting an egg on it is the way to go)! For the girl who asks for mild salsa at a Mexican restaurant, I thought chorizo might be too spicy but it turns out I really liked it!

Day 21:

What went well?

MG– I drank quite a bit of water since that’s about all that was making me feel better. I also ate a balanced breakfast – Brussels sprouts, sausage, and eggs.

G– I was excited to hear that one of my co-workers cooked a Whole30 meal, after being inspired by our blog and recipes. I was excited when I realized I had a kombucha in the fridge still – LaCroix wasn’t doing it for me today! My lunch that Mary Gwen packed was also amazing after working hard in the warehouse – I ate all the veggies!

What could have gone better?

MG– I wish that I had had something that would’ve made me feel better at work. It’s still an adjustment to think Whole30 when you don’t feel well. I also wasn’t feeling crummy when I left for work so that made meals different.

G– I didn’t eat breakfast until really late and I could feel the difference. With 5 people being out of the office with the flu, I felt like overall it was a successful day!

What will you do tomorrow?

MG– Hopefully I’ll be feeling better and will want to eat all 3 meals. I also want to try to spice up meals more often by trying new things like I did with the chorizo tonight.

G– Keep preparing my breakfast early in the morning to start my day off right and pick up some more kombucha at Whole Foods.

Thingamajig of the Day:

Today’s thingamajig isn’t food related at all. Not even close. Don’t use this in your kitchen. Use it in your shower!

Trader Joe’s Honey Mango Shave Cream will change your life! I absolutely love it, it leaves your legs feeling super soft. I gave it to a friend of mine after she had her twin girls and her Beau used it and raved! See, its not just for women!

Not only does it smell good, but it leaves your skin so smooth!
