After a long week, I needed a long nap. I was able to get off work a little early today and came home to straighten up some and then vegged out reading, Behind Closed Doors, for my book club. I must’ve needed a lot of rest because I had set an alarm to try to go see a friend, and I didn’t wake up to it at all. I also realized, I am going to have to fend for myself and make a salad for dinner since I didn’t thaw out hamburger yesterday. Now to watch some of the Olympics and to put together a tasty salad. Who else is watching the Winter Olympics? If so, what’s your favorite event to watch?
Day 25:
What went well?
MG– You guys, today was tough. I think I just need to realize that I’ve been going non-stop for a while and need a day to relax and rejuvenate. Hopefully this weekend will be just what I need. I may not have eaten the best today but I stayed Whole30 and just listened to what my body needed for fuel which wasn’t much.
G– It was nice to have a full office again today. I got to eat my meals without having to juggle phones and other office craziness.
What could have gone better?
MG– I wasn’t feeling 100% this morning so I just had an apple for breakfast. And with having not set aside any hamburger, dinner was throwing together a salad. Lunch was a leftover burger and potato salad from last night. I need to make sure I get more veggies and work on staying hydrated.
G– I struggled to finish off the dish of gumbo having it for multiple days is starting to get old but I was glad to have a different meal for dinner and reset my taste buds.
What will you do tomorrow?
MG– I am going to really focus on myself and what my body is telling me. I do have plans to make a quick trip to Asheville in the morning but intend to have a relaxing afternoon and have no plans for Sunday. Sometimes you just need to listen to your body.
G– Cooking for my sister will be fun, showing her lots of things about Whole30 and I’m going to see if there’s any Whole30 restaurants in Lexington, KY that we can try. Any ideas?
Thingamajig of the Day
There’s not many of us who enjoy cleaning but I sure do love how a clean house feels. One thing I’ve been trying to do recently is bring less bleach into my house and more natural cleaners. If you haven’t used Method brand, they are amazing. I use their laundry detergent – it smells so good and it doesn’t make me question what’s in it. My most recent find though, is their Daily Shower Cleaner. The water where I live is a bit rough on the toilets and bathtub and this has helped lessen the scrubbing I’ve had to do and it smells so good!
